Kintyre with your dog

Coastal days, somewhere for lunch and a comfortable place to stay. Start with recorded dog policies, then check the details that matter to your visit.

Plan the whole visit

A dog-friendly café does not mean dogs can enter every part of a business. Accommodation may limit rooms, dog numbers or where dogs can be left. Read each listing’s policy and contact the operator before booking.

Walking, wildlife and livestock

Keep dogs under close control, follow local signs and take waste away. A beach or path listing does not confirm unrestricted access on every date. Ask the land manager about any seasonal restrictions that affect your plans.

Dark Skies Theatre

An outdoor stargazing site in northern Gigha, with benches and information to help you explore the night sky. This is a designated Dark Sky Discovery Site and is of Milky Way class, which means skies are very dark and unhindered views of stars, planets, the Milky Way and other astronomical features are possible. As well as community stargazing and astronomy events, Dark Skies Gigha offers bookable daytime sky-walks, star-bathing sessions and moon-watching experiences for groups of 6 or more.
