About us
We run a hospitality business here in Kintyre, so we know first-hand how challenging quieter visitor seasons can be for local businesses. We also know how much this peninsula has to offer, and how easy it is for visitors to miss the places and experiences that make it special.
We created The Kintyre Guide to help bring the two together: helping visitors discover more, stay a little longer and enjoy their time here, while giving local businesses a stronger way to be found. Our aim is simple — to bring a modern approach to tourism in Kintyre, grounded in local knowledge and the experience of welcoming guests ourselves.
A peninsula worth taking your time over
There is more to a visit than getting from one landmark to the next. A café on the way, a conversation in a shop, a beach you had not planned to stop at: these are part of the trip too.
The Kintyre Guide brings together places to stay, food and drink, independent shops, days out and quieter discoveries across six areas. Use the map to get your bearings, browse by what you enjoy, or save a few favourites for later.
How we put the guide together
Listings draw on information published by businesses, attraction operators and other identified sources. Each place links to its source and shows when the listing was checked. Business owners can apply to manage their details after their connection to the business has been reviewed.
We are an independent guide, not an official tourist board. Inclusion is not a star rating or a guarantee of availability. Opening days, access and services can change; confirm the details that matter to your visit with the business directly.
Know a place we should include?
We welcome visitor-facing businesses across Kintyre and Gigha. If you run a business, apply to join or claim an existing listing. Please use your own photographs or photographs you have permission to share.
