A CLOSER LOOK

Discover Saddell Bay

A wooded approach to the sea, with views towards Arran and Antony Gormley’s GRIP sculpture.

What to expect

The beach is associated with Paul McCartney's Mull of Kintyre film and Antony Gormley's GRIP sculpture. Those connections add another layer to a walk beside the sea, while the nearby abbey offers a separate heritage stop. The wider estate also contains holiday properties.

Planning your visit

Follow current estate signs and respect the privacy of occupied properties. The castle and cottages are not general walk-in visitor attractions. Check tide and footing before approaching rocks or the sculpture, and leave time to return along the beach without rushing.
