Discover The Gauldrons Bay

An Atlantic-facing bay beyond Machrihanish, with open coastal views.

What to expect

The Gauldrons combines sand, shingle and rocky stretches, with grass and cliffs behind the shore. That variety makes it a different landscape from Machrihanish's long sandy beach and a place to notice rock formations as well as sea views.

Planning your visit

Expect uneven footing and select a route that remains comfortable for the whole group. Check tide and sea conditions before approaching rocks; avoid exposed edges in wind or rough weather. Wildlife sightings depend on the day. Public toilets and step-free shore access have not been verified here.
