A CLOSER LOOK

Discover Dunaverty Beach

A crescent of sand near Southend, overlooked by Dunaverty Rock.

What to expect

The sandy curve beside Dunaverty Rock brings Southend's coastal scenery and history together. The rock marks a former castle site, while other heritage stops around Southend offer a reason to explore beyond the beach.

Planning your visit

Keep a beach walk distinct from any attempt to climb the rock, and assess tides and footing before continuing around the shore. Nearby golf facilities are not automatically public beach facilities. Bring what you need and follow signs around livestock and other land users.
